Brian Beacom is Senior Features Writer for the Herald and Times Group in Glasgow.

He lives in the Renfrewshire village of Kilmacolm with two cats, Effie and Simba, who were dumped upon him when his partner moved in.

His interest in hair recovery, he claims, is only bordering on the obsessive.
